Gesture Mouse

Your phone is a mouse and keyboard.

A trackpad, hand-gesture control through the camera, and typing with your phone's keyboard — over Bluetooth. Your computer sees an ordinary wireless mouse, so there's nothing to install on it.

What it does

Three ways to drive your computer

Trackpad

Laptop-style: drag to move, tap to click, two fingers to scroll, two-finger tap to right-click, tap-and-hold to drag.

Air gestures

Point the camera at your hand and don't touch anything: sweep, aim, pinch to grab, dip a finger to click. Tracking runs entirely on the phone.

Keyboard

Type on the computer with your phone's own keyboard — swipe typing and voice typing included.

Made to fit you

Speed, scrolling and themes are adjustable, and a sensitivity tracker watches how you move and suggests a better speed.

Questions

FAQ

Why does Android warn me before installing?
Android shows that for every app installed outside the Play Store. The app is signed with the same key every release, and each release's notes on GitHub list its SHA-256 fingerprint if you'd like to check the file is the real one.
Does it collect or upload anything?
Only what you choose to send. Hand tracking happens on the phone and the camera feed is never stored. Since version 1.9 the app can also connect to the internet for one thing: sending a bug report when you tap Send in Settings → Help & contact → Report a bug. You see everything in it first, and computer names and Bluetooth addresses are scrubbed out before it leaves your phone. Nothing else is sent, and earlier versions had no internet permission at all. On this site we keep only what you choose to send through its forms, plus an anonymous count of download taps (version, phone or computer, and which link you came from). Privacy policy.
Something's broken — how do I tell you?
Settings → Help & contact → Report a bug. Add a note if you like, tap See exactly what will be sent to check it, then Send. Only the maintainers can read what arrives, so a log from your phone is a private conversation between your app and us. If you'd rather email, Email us is in the same place.
Which computers does it work with?
Anything that accepts a Bluetooth mouse. It's tested on Windows. macOS, Linux, Chromebooks, iPads and Android TVs should work the same way — they're being tested with the beta group now.
It paired but won't connect, or the keyboard doesn't type
Remove the pairing on both the computer and the phone, open the app, keep it on screen, and pair again from the computer. Computers remember what a device can do from the moment it paired — pairing while the app was closed, or with an older version, leaves them thinking it isn't a mouse or keyboard.
Does it work with the app in the background?
No — keep it on screen while you use it. Android only lets an app act as a Bluetooth mouse while it's open. Reopen it and it reconnects by itself.
Some symbols come out wrong when I type
The keyboard sends keys in the US layout. If your computer is set to another layout (French, German…), a few symbols land on different keys. Letters and numbers are fine. Characters without a US key, like é or emoji, are skipped.
How do I update?
Download the new version from this page and install it over the old one — your settings stay. Join the list below and we'll email you when there's a new version.
Is there an iPhone version?
No — iPhones don't allow apps to act as a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard.
